Raspberry picking

Today, we went with a good friend and her 2 daughters to Remlinger Farm's to do some strawberry picking. That was our intention. The strawberries were not lookin' very good and it hurt our backs to bend over with babies in front carriers so we decided to go check out the raspberries. We hit the jackpot! Not only were they at the perfect height for us and the kids to pick, they were ripe and juicy. And the best part, no sticker bushes like blackberries. We left with a couple pints but want to go back so we can get enough to make jam.

Autumn examining a raspberry to see if it's worthy of picking.

Charlee, a little bummed that she can't pick any. She got to be a taste-tester though.

I explained to Autumn that we only want the red ones and to only pick them if they come off easily. I couldn't help but laugh when she would find one that met that criteria, she would excitedly say, "Oh, this one is perfect!"

Autumn demonstrating how you pick them very carefully so not to squish them.

Autumn was so proud of how many she picked. She did an excellent job of picking only the ripe ones too.

Autumn showing the camera how delicious the raspberries are.
