Charlee's first road trip

This weekend we took our first road trip as a family of four. Charlee did amazingly well and Autumn showed us that she was an old pro. Our friend Kathy drove up from Boise and met us in Walla Walla and watched Autumn and Charlee while we attended a wedding.

Right before pulling out of the driveway.

Our first stop was for lunch in a town called Zillah, just past Yakima. We anticipated stopping every 70 miles but didn't actually until after 150 miles. Here, Autumn and Charlee are enjoying some Subway.

We stopped about 40 miles before our final destination to let the kids get out and stretch their legs and eat a snack. We also got this family photo.

Windmills along the drive somewhere outside of Walla Walla.

It's funny how your criteria for what a hotel's amenities are changes when you become parents. I don't care if they have a hair dryer anymore because I usually don't get time to wash my hair anyway. A swimming pool, on the other hand is the new must have.

Charlee apparently loves the water!

Autumn proving that her swimming lessons were a valuable investment.

Our hotel's suggestion for a kid-friendly restaurant was Lorenzo's. Charlee loved the all you can eat buffet. She couldn't get enough steamed veggies.

Autumn grubbin' on some spaghetti and meatballs.

Our reason for the trip: To see our very good friends, Bill & Michelle tie the knot! It was a beautiful ceremony and we had a lot of fun at the reception. Thank you Kathy for staying with Autumn and Charlee.
